Dear Colleague,
As we embrace the Thanksgiving season, let us draw inspiration from the words of Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk and gifted writer: "To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything."
United by our shared call to continue Jesus' mission of love and healing in the world today, we can embody this gratitude in our daily endeavors on behalf of the ministry. Together, we answer God's call to foster healing, act with compassion, and promote wellness for all persons and communities, with particular attention to our neighbors who are poor, underserved and most vulnerable. Through our service, we aim to transform hurt into hope.
These challenging times have tested our resolve. Through it all, your work continues to shine as a steadfast source of hope and reassurance. May we be ever mindful of the bold and courageous religious founders of our ministries, on whose shoulders we now stand. Fueled by their example, we will empower bold change to elevate human flourishing as we meet the needs of today.
On behalf of your colleagues at CHA, I extend heartfelt gratitude for the impact you have on the lives of those you serve. As we gather around tables of plenty this Thanksgiving, relishing in “the love of God in everything,” let us take a moment to remember those affected by ongoing violence, conflicts and turmoil here in the United States and across the globe. In fervent unity, let us offer our prayers for peace to prevail.
With the deepest of gratitude and warmest wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving,
Sr. Mary Haddad
