We are seeing the devastating effects of climate change and environmental degradation all around us…. wildfires, more intense storms, floods, droughts and heat waves. While mitigation efforts, such as moving to renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions, are vital to limiting the continued rise of global temperatures, resiliency planning is crucial to ensuring communities can weather the current impacts of climate change. For health care organizations, resiliency planning means looking at both operational and community needs, as reflected in the White House/HHS Health Sector Climate Pledge which asks health care organizations to commit to carbon reduction and resiliency planning goals.

This webinar will explain why climate resiliency needs to be a strategic priority for health care organizations and how to make plans to manage extreme weather risks and promote community resilience.

In this webinar, you will:

  • Gain insight into how health care climate resiliency is critical to addressing climate change’s threats to population health, health equity and health care delivery.
  • Develop an understanding of the various components and aspects of resiliency planning for health care organizations.
  • Learn how to get started in developing a climate resiliency plan for your organization, including a review of available resources, tools and first steps.
