In honor of Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ family, friends, co-workers and patients we serve, let us pray the words of Jesus as he spoke to his disciples, teaching them the ways of the Kingdom. As co-creators called to collaborate with God to build God’s Kingdom, may we extend the lavish riches this blessing offers to all who seek the Holy One, and may we receive the depth of it for ourselves that we may fully appreciate and understand God’s ways.

Let us pray—

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.

Matthew 5:3-12

Blessed are you, God of all creation, who created each of us in your image and likeness and who calls us to bless one another in the lavish riches of the Beatitudes. We pray that your will be done through us that your Kingdom be brought to the fullness of your vision on earth. May we extend blessedness to all who seek you. AMEN.
